Plans for the new facility, which will be located on a 20 acre parcel in Perris, California. Include 120,000 square feet of under-roof fabrication space and a 16,000 square foot office. Design plans for the new facility are currently in review. Richard Lewis, President and CEO, explains that \"the new facility will dramatically improve our operations by in creasing fabrication capacity and improving efficiency. \" A ground breaking ceremony is planned for early 2004 and the facility is planned to open in early 2005. For Immediate Release October 06, 2003 Orange County Erectors, Inc. has been awarded the structural steel contract on the Orange County Performing Arts Center expansion in Costa Mesa, California. The new expansion includes the 2,000 seat Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and the 500 seat multi-purpose Samueli Theater. Steel fabrication is scheduled to start in December 2003 and expected to finish in early 2005. The project includes over 1,000 tons of structural steel members and includes 8 large trusses over the main theater. The largest truss is 125 feet long and weighs over 80,000 pounds. The General Contractor on the project is Flour Enterprises, Inc. based in Mission Viejo, California. Orange County Erectors, Inc. recognized by California Occupational Safety and Heath Administration October 16, 2002 The Orange County office of Turner Construction Company and its subcontractors were awarded Star Status in the California Voluntary Protection Program (CAL/VPP) on October 16, by the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (CAL/OSHA). The award was presented by Stephen Smith, Secretary of Labor and David Bare, Division of Occupational Safety and Health Program Manager for the State of California. The award acknowledged the exemplary safety program at the construction site for Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc., South Campus project in Torrance, California. CAL/VPP certification recognizes employers whose occupational safety and health programs are exemplary and meet specific guidelines, which include: management commitment, employee involvement, work site analysis, hazard prevention and control, and safety and health training. This exciting ride is a combination of a water slide and a roller coaster. Orange County Erectors, Inc. fabricated and erected the ride structure and installed the ride rails which were fabricated in Germany. The project included over 500,000 pounds of steel on the 3 towers which form the structure of the ride (over 48,000 square feet). The largest tower is over 60 feet high. Unusual engineering requirements on this project that demanded precise fabrication included special skewed brace frames and compound miter connections on the towers. The 16.5-acre site consists of five primary components plus the training grounds and associated structures. The project buildings include a public services and support Center, 911 communications building, vehicle maintenance center, material management center and the training tower. The training tower is a six-story burn prop that will be used for high-rise, industrial and residential training scenarios. The tower also includes an observation window so that the public can observe fire fighting techniques. The project included the fabrication and erection of a 1,200-seat performing arts theater, retail space, an intimate show lounge, bingo hall, seven restaurants, and a pool deck on the roof of the conference space. New construction techniques used on this project included the use of a patented rebar fusion technique and a new method of spandrel construction.
